All these contributors are mothers themselves, and have kindly offered a few words on how becoming a mother has inspired their cooking.

BACON, EGG AND PARMESAN CREPES
by @Dianemorrisey
"Cooking is my love language. I show love through food, and cooking for my family is my daily love letter to all of them. I know all of their favorites and nothing brings me more joy as a Mother then to cook them for them." |

SMOOTHIE BOWL BREAKFAST BAR
by @Crowded_kitchen
"We’re so grateful to have been able to take our shared passion of cooking and baking and turn it into a business together! PLUM, BLUE CHEESE AND PANCETTA FLATBREAD WITH HOT HONEY
by @Mollyjean4
"I have a bit of a reputation for being a little extra when it comes to recipe development, I love a challenge, and I like to go big. Well, there is nothing more humbling than spending 10 hours making lasagne bolognese from scratch only to see your toddler beg for frozen ravioli instead. In a word, motherhood has been beautifully humbling, and has taught me that sometimes it’s ok to take the easy way out as long as you add lots of love!“ |

CHILLED CUCUMBER YOGURT SOUP WITH CHILI AND LIME
by @Feedtheswimmers
“Being a mom pushed me to become more versatile and creative. My goal was making everyone happy and creating excitement over trying new foods, all while cooking one meal.” |

SPAGHETTI ALLE VONGOLE
by @Daenskitchen
“Since becoming a mother, my cooking style hasn’t changed too dramatically, as I’ve always focused on simple wholesome cooking. I cook for my family what my mum and nanna would cook for their families when we were younger. I do however, tend to focus on more one-pot meals or things I can make in bulk!” |

COCONUT VEGGIE CURRY
by @Conscious_cooking
“Becoming a mother is what really started my food journey. From making dishes from scratch, to incorporating more vegetables into their diets, I'm glad that I've been able to teach them lifelong skills — cooking, being adventurous eaters, and the appreciation of food.” |

SPICY DIJON MUSTARD VEGAN POTATO SALAD
by @Cookingforpeanuts
"As a dietitian and mom of three, my goal is to prepare healthy and delicious meals as quickly as possible. You learn to prioritize efficient meals over elaborate ones when you have three hungry mouths to feed!” |

GREEN BEANS AND STRAWBERRY SALAD
by @Thejamlab
“From the time my kids were babies, I have always made things from scratch for them. Feeding them in-season produce is a huge part of what I cook on a daily basis, which means our intake of fruits and vegetables has gone up significantly! I can proudly say that my kids are not picky eaters!” |

CANTALOUPE, FIG, PROSCIUTTO AND MOZZARELLA SALAD
by @Lisa_vipond
"When my children were small I made all the traditional foods, desserts and festive drinks to celebrate the holidays and traditions- but I didn’t really know if anyone noticed or cared. I just wanted to carry on our family recipes and holiday traditions. It wasn’t until my father passed, that I heard from my children how they look forward to certain holidays and ‘Papas’ recipes to stay close to him and our holiday memories. They talk about how they looked forward to certain holidays because of certain dishes that were sure to be there. I make sure to cook with the intention of making memories for my children for them to have and to pass down." |

POMEGRANATE-CREAM CHEESE BUTTERCREAM
by @Lisathompson
"Even though my son is too young to help me cook, we still find ourselves most often gathered in the kitchen with an array of cooking tools strewn across the floor. I let him touch squishy homemade pizza dough, smell freshly ground coffee, and taste fluffy buttercream frosting, all with the hopes that I’ll someday teach, inspire, and encourage him in his cooking. I hope to trigger those same happy kitchen memories with me, just as my mom did all those years ago."
P.S. Watch me make this buttercream here! |
