ingredients
- 3 pieces Hilsa fish
- 2 tablespoons Poppy Seed
- 2 tablespoons Mustard Seeds
- Mustard Oil
- To Taste Salt
- Banana leaf
Method
Step 1
Put poppy seeds in pan. Dry Roast poppy seeds in pan in low flame till nice aroma comes out. Put it in blender after cooling. Put 2 tsp Mustard seeds in same. Grind them into powder.
Step 2
Add water and make paste after grinding again. Season Ilish Maach pieces with salt and turmeric powder. Coat fish pieces with the mixture. Rest it for 15 minutes.
Step 3
Dry Roast banana leaf in pan. Put the fish pieces. Wrap from every corner and seal with a thread. Drizzle dollops of mustard oil in pan. Put the banana leaf wrapped fish pieces in pan. Cover with a lid and cook for few minutes. As leaves start changing colour, flip once.
Step 4
Cook for few minutes and it's ready.
