As delicious as apples are, they need a little help when baked. I love love love almond-flavored anything, and a smooth frangipane has never done me wrong. Frangipane is the perfect compliment to the thinly sliced apples. And the final layer? A rustic pie crust made with fruity olive oil, almond milk, and a couple tablespoons of buckwheat flour.
