ingredients

  • Two medium cups of yellow split peas soaked and rinsed
  • 2 medium sized tomatoes cut into big chunks
  • 1 small red capsicum ripped into big chunks
  • 2 medium sized onions cut into big chunks
  • 3 large garlic cloves peeled
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp of sweet paprika
  • 1/4 small cup of sunflower oil
  • 1 1/4 small cup of water + more when needed
  • 8 pinches of soaked and rinsed chopped parsley

Method

  • Step 1

    1. Blend all of the vegetables, spice and seasonings for 30 sec or until the mixture is smooth and runny (not too runny). Add more water when needed.

  • Step 2

    2. Heat a large pot with 1/4 cup of water at high heat. Pour in the mixture, cook for 3 min, add the split peas and the 1 large cup of water in, mix and cook for 30 min or until the split peas are soft. Add more water when needed.

  • Step 3

    3. Serve the stew into 8 lovely bowls of your choice with parsley on top and enjoy!😊
