ingredients
- 2 1/2 small cups of toasted tahina blended into flour
- 3 medium sized bananas peeled and broken into big chunks
- A tsp of ground turmeric
- 2 small quarter cups of water + more when needed
- 9 medjool dates pitted
- A small quarter cup of water + more when needed
- A tbsp of coconut oil
- A tbsp of raw cacao powder
- One small fig cut into slightly thin wedges
- 3 pinches of ground cinnamon for garnish
Method
Step 1
Blend the bananas and 1 quarter cup of water for 30 sec or until they become a smoothie. In a mixing bowl mix the sesame seed flour and banana smoothie for 10 min or until the mixture is smooth and thick and free of lumps.
Step 2
Heat a medium sized pot with a small quarter cup of water. Pour in the mixture with turmeric and cook and stir for 5 min. Add more water when needed. After the sweet tahina is cooked turn off the flame, let the tahina cool and place in the fridge for overnight.
Step 3
Heat a medium sized pot with a small quarter cup of water. Pour in the dates with cacao powder and coconut oil and cook and stir for 5 min. Add more water when needed.
Step 4
Turn off the flame, transfer the cooked dates and liquid to the blender and blend for 30 sec or until the mixture becomes smooth and runny. Transfer the mixture into a medium sized cup and let it cool. After the sauce is fully cooled wrap it up with cling wrap and place it in the fridge for overnight.
Step 5
The next day take out the yellow tahina and the chocolate date sauce. The yellow tahina should be light and thick while the chocolate date sauce should be slightly runny. Assemble the treat by getting out 4 medium sized double glassed cups, carefully place in the yellow tahina first then the slightly thin wedged figs on the side then pour the chocolate date sauce in the centre of the yellow tahina and finally sprinkle the cinnamon on top of the chocolate date sauce. Enjoy!π
