  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons hot honey
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Red pepper flakes (or cayenne pepper), to taste

For the Pasta Salad:

  • 1/2 box mezzi rigatoni
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup pearl mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup croutons
  • Handful of arugula and fresh basil
  • Drizzle of olive oil

Method

  • Step 1

    Cook the mezzi rigatoni according to the package instructions. When al dente, drain, toss with a drizzle of olive oil, and let cool.

  • Step 2

    In a large bowl, whisk together all the dressing ingredients: olive oil, hot honey, lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.

  • Step 3

    Add the cooled pasta to the bowl with the dressing. Then, add the cherry tomatoes, pearl mozzarella cheese, croutons, arugula, and fresh basil.
