Such a classic dish! One all home cooks should have in their repertoire.
I usually double, or...shhh...triple the recipe. It freezes wonderfully. The trick to this sauce is to break the meat up as fine as possible and then let it simmer very slowly...or throw the lid on the pot and shoot it in a 300 degree oven for 4-5 hrs. I also added the bay leafs.
