ingredients

  • 5-7 red onions
  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns (optional)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup

Method

  • Step 1

    Half and peel the onions. Slice into thin slices using a mandolin or a sharp knife.

  • Step 2

    Add into a large jar and top with the black peppercorns if using.

  • Step 3

    Mix together water, white vinegar, maple syrup and salt and pour over the onions.

  • Step 4

    Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to overnight. Add to sandwiches, toasts, Buddha bowls, salads and more! ENJOY!
