ingredients
- 1 pack raw Chicken breast
- pinch of Salt
- pinch of pepper
- 1 teasopon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Paprika
- 4 tablespoons softened Butter
- 2 teaspoons Olive Oil
- 1 large diced Onion
- 1 pack sliced Carrots
- 4 stick sliced Celery
- 2 clove sliced Garlic
- 1/3 cup Flour
- 1 1/2 cups Chicken Broth
- 1/2 optional Heavy Cream
- pinch of Nutmeg
- 1 teaspoons chopped Herbs
- 1 package of Puff Pastry
- 1 large beaten, for egg wash Egg
Method
Step 1
Chicken - Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika. Roast in the oven @375 for 25- 30 minutes.
Step 2
Filling - In a cast iron pan add butter and olive oil. Sauté onions for 7 - 10 minutes until translucent. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add carrots, celery and garlic and sauté for 7 - 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper as you go.
Step 3
Create a Roux - A roux is flour and fat cooked together to thicken sauces. First, add chopped chicken. vegetables. Next, add flour to the mixture. Cook for 30 seconds to remove the flour taste. Add chicken broth. Add enough chicken broth to thin out sauce. Stir to remove lumps, add heavy cream (optional), salt and pepper to taste, nutmeg and herbs. Stir together.
Step 4
Finally touches - Add puff pastry to the top and brush with egg wash. Bake @425 for 15 - 20 minutes until the dough is golden brown.
