ingredients
- 2 slices of toasted white bread
- 1 cup pulled pork
- 3 tablespoons Vidalia onion relish
- 5 slices of bread and butter pickles
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- for toasting unsalted butter
Method
Step 1
Toast the Bread: Lightly butter both sides of the white bread slices. Toast them in a skillet or in a hot oven until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Set aside on a plate.
Step 2
Spread the Mayonnaise: Spread a tablespoon of plain mayonnaise on one side of a toasted bread slice. The mayonnaise will add a creamy texture and subtly enhance the flavors of the other ingredients.
Step 3
Layer the Pork: On one slice of the toasted bread (mayo side up), evenly distribute the warm, shredded braised pork butt roast. The warmth of the pork will slightly melt the mayonnaise, blending the flavors beautifully.
Step 4
Place the Pickles: Arrange the bread and butter pickles on top of the onion relish, adding a zesty and crunchy contrast to the tender pork and sweet relish.
Step 5
Add Vidalia Onion Relish: Spoon the Vidalia onion relish over the shredded pork. The relish brings a delightful sweetness and tanginess that complements the savory pork perfectly.
Step 6
Close and Serve: Place the second slice of toasted bread on top, mayo side down, to complete the sandwich. Press gently to ensure the sandwich holds together well. Serve immediately and savor the combination of tender braised pork, sweet Vidalia onion relish, crisp pickles, and creamy mayonnaise, all sandwiched between two slices of crispy toasted bread.
