ingredients

For the Buffalo Wings

  • 2 pounds buffalo wings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 quart for frying vegetable oil

ingredients

For the Honey-Garlic Sauce

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Method

  • Step 1

Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels, and season them with salt, ground black pepper, and garlic powder. Dip each wing first in the beaten eggs and then dredge in flour, ensuring they are fully coated.

  • Step 2

In a saucepan, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is well combined and slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Stir in the apple cider vinegar, and keep over low heat until ready to toss with the wings.

  • Step 3

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to approximately 375°F. In batches, carefully lower the wings into the hot oil. Fry for about 10-12 minutes per batch, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the wings from the oil and drain them on a wire rack or paper towels.

  • Step 4

Place the fried wings in a large bowl. Pour the honey-garlic sauce over the wings, and toss them to coat evenly.

  • Step 5

Serve the wings hot, garnished with chopped green onions, if desired.
