ingredients
For the Grouper Patties:
- 1 pound grouper
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 clove of minced garlic
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced mango
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

For the Mango Garlic Aioli:
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 3 cloves of minced garlic
- 1/4 cup mango nectar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

For the Burgers:
- 4 toasted hamburger buns
- 4 slices of tomato
- 4 pieces of green leaf lettuce
- 4 slices of American cheese
Method
For the Grouper Patties
Step 1
Prepare Ingredients: Dice the red bell pepper, onion, and fresh mango into small pieces. Mince the garlic.
Step 2
Mix Patties: In a large bowl, combine the ground grouper, panko breadcrumbs, minced garlic, egg, diced red bell pepper, onion, mango, salt, and ground black pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
Step 3
Form Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty that’s about ½ inch thick.
Step 4
Cook Patties: Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Once hot, cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are fully cooked and have a nice golden-brown crust.
For the Mango Garlic Aioli
Step 1
Mix Aioli Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and pepper. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Step 2
Chill: For best flavor, cover and refrigerate the aioli for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld.
Assembling the Burgers
Step 1
Prepare Buns: Toast the hamburger buns until they’re lightly golden. This adds texture and prevents the buns from becoming soggy.
Step 2
Assemble: Start by placing a cooked grouper patty on the bottom bun. Layer with a slice of American cheese. Spread a generous amount of mango garlic aioli on top of the patty. Add a slice of tomato and a piece of green leaf lettuce on top of the aioli. Cap each burger with the top half of the toasted bun.
Step 3
Serve: Serve immediately while hot and enjoy!
