ingredients
- 8 ounces ramen noodles
- 1 pound flank steak
- 1 pound trimmed and halved Brussels sprouts
- 4 cups of water
- 2 cubes beef bouillon
- 3 cloves of minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 3 chopped green onions
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- to taste salt and ground black pepper
- for garnish cilantro leaves
Method
Step 1
Prepare the Flank Steak: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Season the flank steak generously with salt and ground black pepper. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak from the grill, and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
Step 2
Roast the Brussels Sprouts: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss the halved Brussels sprouts with a drizzle of vegetable oil, salt, and ground black pepper on a baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until they are tender and have a nice char on the edges.
Step 3
Prepare the Ramen Broth: In a large pot, heat some vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for about a minute until fragrant. Add the beef bouillon cubes, and pour in the water. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Adjust the seasoning with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
Step 4
Cook the Ramen Noodles: Meanwhile, cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside. Do not add the flavor packets.
Step 5
Assemble the Ramen Bowls: Evenly divide the cooked ramen noodles, grilled flank steak, and roasted Brussels sprouts among serving bowls. Ladle the hot beef broth over the noodles.
Step 6
Garnish and Serve: Garnish the bowls with chopped green onion and fresh cilantro leaves for a burst of freshness. Serve your delicious ramen dish hot and enjoy!
