- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 quart for frying vegetable oil
- to taste salt and ground black pepper
ingredients
For the Sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Method
Step 1
Prep the Wings: In a large bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and ground black pepper. Toss the chicken wings in the flour mixture until they are well coated.
Step 2
Deep Fry the Wings: Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F. Fry the wings in batches for about 10 minutes, until they are golden brown and crispy. Do not overcrowd the fryer. Drain the wings on paper towels.
Step 3
Make the Sticky Sauce: In a saucepan, combine the ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Stirring frequently to prevent sticking and burning. Let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes, until it thickens into a sticky glaze.
Step 4
Toss Wings in Sauce: In a large bowl, toss the fried wings with the sticky sauce until they are well coated.
Step 5
Serve: Serve the sticky wings hot and garnish with chopped green onions.
