Shrimp and Broccoli Stir Fry

ingredients

  • 1/2 bag thawed shrimp
  • 2 bag frozen broccoli
  • 4 clove chopped garlic
  • 1/4 chopped onion
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 honey
  • 2 rice wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup thai basil
  • 4 cooked according to package directions, to serve rice

Method

  • Step 1

    Thaw out shrimp by taking it out the day before or running the bag under tap water until thawed.

  • Step 2

    Wash and drain rice for 15-30 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Make the marinate by combining soy sauce, water, honey, rice wine vinegar and half amount of Thai basil. Stir the shrimp into the marinate and rest for 15-30 minutes.

  • Step 4

    Cook the frozen broccoli base on bag's direction and cook rice base on direction.

  • Step 5

    Cut onion and garlic.

  • Step 6

    Heat wok over medium heat with vegetable oil. Cook onion and garlic until fragrant and caramelizing.

  • Step 7

    Stir in the shrimp without the sauce and cook until shrimp are pink. (about 5 minutes)

  • Step 8

    Stir in Thai basil and mix well. (at this point, it should be very fragrant!)

  • Step 9

    Stir in cooked broccoli and sauce. Mix well.

  • Step 10

    Serve with warm rice and enjoy!
