These fudgy vegan and gluten free brownies are topped with an extra helping of chocolate and coconut sugar for a caramelized, crunchy top and gooey interior.

ingredients

  • 2/3 cup any nut butter
  • 1/2 cup apple purée
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 2/3 cup plant based milk
  • 1/4 cup sweet potato flour
  • 1/8 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup cacao powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon dark chocolate chips, to top
  • 1 tablespoon coconut sugar, to top

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8 inch baking tray with parchment paper.

  • Step 2

    In a large bowl, mix together all the ingredients until combined.

  • Step 3

    Transfer the batter to the prepared baking tray and top with the coconut sugar and chocolate chips. Bake for about 25-30 minutes. Let cool before cutting.
