Hibiscus Margarita

My Recipes
Maraschino Vermouth Cocktail
The Brooklyn has truly flown under the radar for the last hundred years, though it has inspired a lot of recent spin-offs. I personally prefer a Manhattan, but it was fun to make this classic for the first time. Rye, dry vermouth, @luxardousa maraschino liqueur, and Angostura and orange bitters (substituted for the now-unavailable Amer Picon).
Fresh Cranberry And Tangerine Old Fashioned
I wrote a guest blog for @hoochapp with a roundup of eight fall cocktails from some of my favorite cocktail bloggers: @stirandstrain, @seattlewhiskeyco, @emsjellytoast, @ashroseconway, @honestlyyum, and @xxgastronomista. (And me.)
Honey Bourbon Cocktail
One of my favorites: the Coal Miner's Daughter, a riff on the Gold Rush with @knobcreek bourbon, lemon juice, honey, ginger simple syrup, and a fresh lavender garnish. Recipe from @liquordotcom.
De La Louisiane
From the blog archives: the elegant De La Louisiane. With rye, sweet vermouth, Benedictine, absinthe, and Peychaud's bitters, it's sort of a Manhattan meets a Sazerac with a twist.
Flushing - Main Street
The Flushing - Main Street from @tigermamabos!! I was floored by the combination of Akashi White Oak Japanese whiskey, Dolin Blanc vermouth, Green Chartreuse, @tempus_fugit_spirits Crème de Cacao, and @angosturahouse bitters. Garnish with a flamed lemon twist. Recipe via @fredericyarm.
Gin Joy Division
Joy Division from @deathandconyc. Gin, dry vermouth, @cointreau_officiel, absinthe. #cocktails #feedfeed
The Revolver
A year ago I featured the Revolver, with @bulleit bourbon, coffee liqueur, and orange bitters.
The 23 Skiddo
The 23 Skidoo: gin, St. Germain, thyme syrup, lemon juice, sparkling wine. And how cute is that garnish Thanks to @travellingbartenders for the idea! #gin #stgermain #champagne #feedfeed
The idea behind this lovely #mocktail was to do something with fennel! I consulted The Flavor Bible for some ideas. It's been a particularly helpful resource for my non-alcoholic recipes, where I usually need some extra inspiration. It said to work in some apple, almond, honey, and turmeric, so that's what I did. I made a honey syrup flavored with fennel, turmeric, and almond extract and mixed it with lemon juice, @martinellisco non-alcoholic sparkling apple cider, and a bit of club soda. I love the color and the subtle almond and anise flavor. The only challenge was a good name... I'm calling it a Golden Orchard, but I feel like it could be better. What would you have named it?
