Roasted Pear Amaranth Porridge
Warm breakfast bowls are now on repeat!! Especially when they have roasted pear!🙋🏼♀️ If you’re looking to sub in another “grain” for traditional oats - amaranth is so good! . Amaranth actually isn’t a grain at all, but rather the seeds of a cereal plant, much like quinoa! It’s gluten free, high in protein, iron + calcium and has a slightly nutty, earthy flavour like quinoa. It's not the cheapest "grain" but I found some in the bulk section at mustardseed co op in Hamilton, which was cheaper, and Amazon has some super cheap too.
