Strawberry Rhubarb Flower Pie
I have been making these pies for years, I got the idea from my childhood watching my Mom hand cut little leaves, apples and even turkey shapes out of pie crust dough to decorate our Holiday pies. All my Flower Pies are an homage to my Mom, and always will be.
How To Tip: Use cookie cutters to cut out the shapes you want (try hearts, stars or dots too) and just overlap them over the top of your filling. This pie is before it is baked, when it bakes the juices bubble up through the cracks creating a colorful and beautiful fruity lacquer to the shapes.
