Kale chips

(0)
"Do you guys like kale? Personally, for a very long time I was definitely not an enthusiast of this leafy green. I found it way too bitter and the texture was just too tough for me. So whenever I had an option I was playing it safe and choosing spinach, rucola or watercress. That was before I found out how to properly prepare it so that it is tastes delicious. Now I am a kale lover -especially kale chips lover! They are so crunchy, satisfying and by using various seasonings you can prepare so many amazing flavours! So if you have been avoiding eating kale or tried it and didn’t like it, it is time to give kale chips a go. They are one of my favorite easy savory snacks 😊"

Recipe Card

ingredients

  • 150 grams shredded kale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon of your chosen herbs - garlic, chilli or curry powder, smoked paprika or nutritional yeast (around 1tsp of each)

Method

  • Step 1

Wash and dry the kale, remove the stems and tear kale into smaller pieces. Place shredded kale in a big bowl, add olive oil and massage it. Sprinkle with salt and your chosen herbs. Mix well so that all is coated. This recipe is very versatile and you can use any spices that you fancy.

  • Step 2

Place kale on a baking dish with baking paper on it, try to spread them on the whole surface so that you have one layer of chips and so that they touch each other as little as possible (thanks to that they will bake evenly and will get proper crispy). Place in a pre-heated to 100oC oven and bake for around 20mins until they are crispy and slightly browned. Make sure that you watch them carefully so that they don’t get burned (this can happen very quickly). You can turn them once during baking. Once baked allowed them to cool on the baking dish so that they can crisp up more.
