Turkey-Fennel-Flax Breakfast Sausages -- Protein up little minds before sending them off into the world? -- <br><br> INGREDIENTS:<br> 2# organic lean ground turkey<br> 1/4 - 1/2 C ground flax seed <br> 1 TBSP brown sugar<br> 1-2 TSP kosher salt<br> 1/2 TSP black pepper<br> 1.5 TSP ground sage<br> 1.5 TSP thyme leaves<br> 1 TBSP fennel seeds<br> 1/2 TSP crushed red pepper flakes (optional - I used too much in one batch & it was too spicy for the kids. Really good for a grown up version tho)<br> [UPDATE: I gave them those "too spicey" ones & they totally grubbed them! Foodie Kids]<br> --<br> Mix all together (for the flax, start with 1/4 C and add more if needed). Mixture should be slightly tacky, not dry.
