Easy Stewed Apples

ingredients

  • 4 apples, diced
  • 2-4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch

Method

  • Step 1

    Add all ingredients to a saucepan and cook over medium heat. Cook covered, stirring occasionally, until apples are just tender, about 5 minutes.

  • Step 2

    The apples should release a good amount of water as they cook down, but if your apples look too dry add a splash of water. The liquid should thicken and coat the apples when they're done cooking.

  • Step 3

    Serve warm or cool to room temperature, then cover and store in the fridge.
