  • 1 to 2 cups fries (frozen or homemade)
  • 1/2 pound ground beef (or 1/2 pound Impossible Foods ground beef for a plant-based option)
  • 2 slices cheese (American, cheddar, or your favorite type)
  • Caramelized onions (from about 1 medium onion)
  • Shredded iceburg lettuce, for the base
  • 1 to 2 tomatoes, sliced `
  • Pickles, sliced, to taste

For the Mac Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon relish
  • 1 tablespoon caramelized onions
  • Water, to thin as needed
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Smoked paprika, to taste
  • Garlic powder, to taste

Method

  • Step 1

    Prepare your fries according to package instructions or make homemade fries. Set aside.

  • Step 2

    In a skillet, cook the ground beef (or plant-based beef) over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon. Once browned, top with cheese slices and let it melt.

  • Step 3

    In a separate pan, cook sliced onions over low heat with a small amount of oil until soft and golden brown, about 10 minutes.

  • Step 4

    In a small bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, and caramelized onions. Add water to thin the sauce to your desired consistency. Season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.

  • Step 5
