ingredients
- 1 can Chickpeas
- 1/4 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 1/4 cup Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/4 cup Tahini paste
- 1 clove minced Garlic
- 2 cubes Ice
- 1 teapsoons Salt
- 1 tabelspoons Garnish Olive Oil
- 1/8 teaspoons Garnish Ground Cumin
- 1/8 teapsoons Garnish Paprika
Method
Step 1
Pour the chickpeas from the can into a small pot, add ¼ teaspoon baking soda and bring it to a boil for five minutes. This step will make the chickpeas softer and easier to grind and give them a creamy texture.
Step 2
Drain the chickpeas and leave them to cool down.
Step 3
Add the chickpeas to the food processor. Puree until a smooth, powder-like mixture forms.
Step 4
Add minced garlic, Tahini paste, salt, and lemon juice. Blend for 1 minute.
Step 5
While the processor is running, add the ice cubes. (Ice cubes will give a light color and creamy texture to your hummus). If the consistency is too thick, add (1-2 ice cubes) until you reach the desired creamy texture.
Step 6
Blend for at least two more minutes until you get a creamy texture.
Step 7
Serve it in a bowl. Then drizzle the olive oil on top. You can add cooked chickpeas in the middle sprinkle cumin and paprika as garnish. Serve with pita wedges, your favorite sliced veggies, and enjoy!
