My Favorite Roasted Garlic Bread

"Each bite will give you the right amount of garlic flavor on a bed of crunchy baguettes. It’s salty with a hint of peppery flavor from the thyme. Easily the best snack and one bite is never enough!"

ingredients

Roasted Garlic

  • 1 head of garlic
  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil or sunflower oil

ingredients

Roasted Garlic Bread

  • A baguette (about 30 cm long)
  • 50 gram softened butter
  • all of the roasted garlic
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of gochugaru or paprika powder or chili powder
  • a pinch of dried parsley
  • a pinch of dried thyme

Method

Roast The Garlic

  • Step 1

    Preheat your oven to 205°C/400°F.

  • Step 2

Cut the top of the garlic bulb. Drizzle the oil on the garlic bulb and wrap it in aluminium foil.

  • Step 3

Bake in a preheated oven for about 40-50 mins. Check them after 40 mins. The garlic should be golden brown and soft.

  • Step 4

When it’s done, let the garlic cool to the touch before using.

Roasted Garlic Bread

  • Step 1

Preheat your oven again to 205°C/400°F and remember to soften your butter.

  • Step 2

Squeeze out the roasted garlic from its skin. Add the softened butter, salt, parsley, gochugaru, and thyme. Mix and adjust to your taste.

  • Step 3

Prepare the bread. Cut the baguette lengthwise or slice it in the middle into two halves.

  • Step 4

Spread the roasted garlic butter mixture on top of the bread and bake for about 5-10 mins. Please keep an eye on them and check for doneness after 5 mins. If they aren’t crispy enough, bake for 1 more min and keep checking on them until you get your desired crunchiness.

  • Step 5

Let it cool for just about 5-10 mins so it doesn't burn your mouth when you eat it. Cut them into smaller pieces and enjoy!
