Recipe Card

ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups crumbled Bread edges
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cups diced Apple (any)
  • 1 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • a Pinch Salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons Cinnamon Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 cups sifted Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 cups Maple Syrup

Method

  • Step 1

    In a bowl, whisk together the crumbled bread edges and eggs.

  • Step 2

    Add sugar, salt and baking powder and continue whisking until everything is mixed well into a smooth batter.

  • Step 3

    Fold in the diced apples along with cinnamon powder.

  • Step 4

    Spray the ebelskiver pan with cooking oil and heat it over moderate heat. Once the pan is heated, reduce the heat.

  • Step 5

    Add about 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of batter into each well of the pan (depending on the size of the well). Let the fritters cook until bottoms are golden, about 3 to 4 minutes, then flip and continue to cook until tops are also golden, 3 to 4 minutes.

  • Step 6

    Repeat with rest of batter, then serve immediately with powdered sugar on top or drizzled maple syrup.
