ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Steel Cut Oats
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cardamon
  • 1/2 tablespoon Maple Syrup
  • 1 diced Plum (Red or Black)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Maple Syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Roasted Pistachios

Method

  • Step 1

    Roughly chop pistachios and set aside. Add oats, milk, salt, cinnamon, cardamon and first serving of maple syrup to a sauce pan on high heat. Bring mixture to a boil, then once it reaches a boil, reduce heat and simmer on low for 15 minutes or until oats have softened.

  • Step 2

    Add the diced plums and second serving of maple syrup to a skillet over medium heat. Cook until plums have softened and syrup has thickened, about 5 to 10 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Add cooked oat mixture to a bowl, top with plums and pistachios, and drizzle thickened plum syrup over the top.

  • Step 4

    Note: If you do not have vanilla milk, use any regular plant based or dairy milk and add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract to oat mixture.
