Using store-bought dumpling wrappers makes it much easier to make scallion pancakes at home! 

Serve this recipe with chicken and rice.

Recipe Card

ingredients

  • 16 dumpling wrappers
  • 3 green onion stalks, thinly chopped
  • Neutral oil (for brushing and pan frying)
  • Salt, to taste

Dipping Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Chinese black vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Method

  • Step 1

    Using a pastry brush, spread a thin layer of oil onto dumpling wrapper.

  • Step 2

    Add a pinch of salt and a thin layer of green onions.

  • Step 3

    Repeat until you have 4 layers of wrapper.

  • Step 4

    Gently roll to your desired thickness while keeping the shape rounded.

  • Step 5

    In a well oiled pan, fry pancake on low heat. Flip and continue to fry until golden brown.

  • Step 6

    Serve alone or with prepared sauce.
