You'll need :
250 g butter, softened
220 g sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
4 - 5 eggs
pinch of salt
350 g all - purpose flour
100 g ground almonds
2 tsp baking powder
Filling :
250 g natural joghurt
200 g ground poppy seeds (I used Mohnback )
Topping :
1 kg apples, peeled and chopped
Method :
Cream the butter and sugar together. Beat the eggs in, one at the time. Whisk the flour, salt, almonds and baking powder together, and add to the mixture, half at the time. Pour mixture into a springform tin. Combine joghurt & poppy seeds. Whisk until smooth. Spread the mixture over the dough, arrange apples over the poppy seeds mixture. Sprinkle some more brown or white sugar on the cake. Bake for about 40 minutes at 180 degrees. Enjoy!"
