There's a lot of great ways to maintain your energy throughout the day naturally and to steer clear of relying on un-natural, synthetic and unhealthy forms of energy boosters. Learning to listen to your body is a journey in itself and it takes time, interest and commitment. When it comes to nutrition, there are several key fundamentals to follow which will keep you balanced and nourished. Aside from that- I recommend to turn inward, as opposed to getting sucked up in the 'noise' that created 'Nutritional Confusion' and strengthen your ability to recognise your body's various messages. Eating nourishing plant-based food is one of keys to balanced health. Today, I decided to have a bowl of nutrition for breakfast that isn't your typical breakfast. I wasn't craving sweets. I wasn't craving coffee. I was craving something savoury and nutritiously dense. This week has really been about rest, silence & cooked/grounding foods.

Quinoa, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, carrots, red bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, dill, parsley, cilantro, chickpeas, celery, olive oil, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, cayenne, sea salt, pepper.

Inspire by being. I remember when Faris and I first met. I'm pretty sure he was pretty shocked and unsure when I told him I was vegan and a holistic nutritionist. He had no idea what I had in store for him. After years of watching me make smoothie bowls, sauces, raw desserts, 'veganised' dishes and more- he finally knocked it out of the park with a delicious morning smoothie bowl 🍓💜 When it comes to the way everyone lives, I've found that the most effective way of inspiring change is to just be. Live your life and focus on you. Steer clear or telling others what to do or how to do or dishing out unwarranted advice. The truth is, no one is better than another- and people are more likely to create change when they are feeling inspired and supported. As soon as Faris realised that he would be eating amazing food for breakfast, lunch and dinner that just so happened to be plant-based, he had no issues with it. And it's safe to say- he's fully embraced it ✨🙏🏻
Black Bean Penne + Peanut Teriyaki Stir Fry for dinner 🌿well deserved after an epic day of riding... ah it's good to be back 🐴💛
Mhmmmm, pasta. Intuitive eating is about trusting your body, listening to its messages, and allowing yourself to live in the present moment. It's about focusing on the present pathway. It's about empowering the side of you that desires love and happiness. That side that is fuelled by spontaneity, going with the flow and living in ease. What if eating a bowl of pasta could leave you feeling as good as you do when you finish a crazy work-out?Essentially, they both have the possibility to be acts of self-love. It's just about how you approach it. 🌿🍝💛
No birthday celebration is complete without a delicious vegan spinach & artichoke dip... right? Right. You can never go wrong. We devoured this along with some delicious white wine, a countryside patio and a whole lot of sunshine 👌🏻 Just got home from a whirlwind weekend trip to Calgary and our family Ranch to celebrate my birthday and our 1st wedding anniversary. It was amazing (wish we could've stayed longer). Thank you for all of the beautiful birthday wishes and anniversary love notes! Love you 🌿🙏🏻💛

Dinner last night, courtesy of some of my favourite local Vancouver products || lentils from @eatgrain, tempeh from @tempeafoods & produce thanks to @spuddelivers || Ps. Today's inspirational quote is: "In order to love who you are, you cannot hate the experiences that have shaped you." Andrea Dykstra Been spending the day in bed healing and watched a beautiful documentary called "Dancer" [thanks to the reco of @lilkatehorsman] is all about a Ukrainian ballet dancer and his story. For me, the biggest message of his story is that we all have a story and we all must love our story and have compassion for our story (and the people in it) to find peace. We all have times in our lives where our shadow shows up and takes over- and cause suffering and pain. And that is ok. Because that is what makes us human. Beautiful. I hope you can have a dinner that is as delicious (and nutritious) as this Lentil Bolognese Rotini tonight 🌿👌🏻
