ingredients

  • 2 2/3 pounds white potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 6 tablespoons fine semolina
  • 1 teaspoon smokey paprika
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method

  • Step 1

Peel and chop the potatoes into quarters and place them in a saucepan with hot water. Boil until fork tender.

  • Step 2

Drain the potatoes and add to a bowl with semolina, seasonings and a bit of oil. Mash until smooth.

  • Step 3

Take a tbsp of the potato mash and flatten into a cookie cutter. Then remove the cookie cutter and flip the potato circle round. To form the eyes, poke two holes with a straw. To form the smile, use the side of a tablespoon and carefully move it from left to right.

  • Step 4

Place the potato smile on a plate aside and repeat this process with the remaining amount of mash.

  • Step 5

Spray or brush the potato smiles with a bit of oil and add them to an airfryer (you will likely need to repeat this process depending on the size of your airfryer).

  • Step 6

Air fry the potato smiles at 190 degrees Celsius for 8 minutes, turning them half way through.

  • Step 7

Serve with ketchup or your favourite confinement, and enjoy!
