Chocolate Ice

Recipe Intro From chefmarinie

For the 4th segment of Naughty Nostalgia, @chefmarinie is making chocolate ices! The soft shell of chocolate that cracks as you bite into it and the creamy, soft ice cream center is just divine.

These were SO easy and SO fun to make, I strongly suggest you give them a go.

ingredients

  • 200 grams dark chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 150 ml double cream
  • 100 ml condensed milk
  • 75 ml Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  • Step 1

Melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil (you can do this by placing this in a microwaveable dish and melting for 2 minutes at 900 watts).

  • Step 2

Add a tbsp and a half of the melted chocolate into each square of the silicone mould. Gently spread the chocolate with a spatula on the sides and the middle of the mold.

  • Step 3

Refrigerate for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, whisk together the double cream, condensed milk, yogurt and vanilla in a large bowl until thick and creamy (this will take about 2 minutes).

  • Step 4

Take out the silicone tray from the fridge and divide the cream evenly into the six molds. Then place in the freezer for 3 hours to solidify.

  • Step 5

Once frozen, reheat the chocolate and cover the tops of the chocolate ices with melted chocolate. Place back in the freezer for 15 more minutes to solidify.

  • Step 6

Carefully remove the chocolate ices from the mold and enjoy whilst cold.
