ingredients
- 300 grams macaroni
- 1/2 head of broccoli, cut into florets
- Water, for boiling
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 50 grams flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt
- Pinch of cinnamon
- 85 grams smoky cheddar, grated
- 65 grams gruyère, grated
- 10 slices chorizo, chopped
Method
Step 1
Start by boiling the pasta and broccoli florets in the same saucepan for 12 minutes on a medium heat until soft. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
Prepare the béchamel by melting butter, then adding the flour and milk. Continuously whisk on a low heat until the consistency thickens.
Step 3
Add the seasonings and grated cheeses and continue whisking until melted. Take the pan off the heat.
Step 4
Add the cooked broccoli and pasta in the cheese sauce and mix well.
Step 5
Place the chopped chorizo in a frying pan on a high heat. Cook for 2-3 minutes until crispy.
Step 6
Add the crispy chorizo bits on top of the Mac n cheese and serve.
