  • 1/2 cup canola oil

Method

  • Step 1

    Pre-heat your oven to 180C. Grease a square pan with tahini all over the bottom and sides.

  • Step 2

    tart by mixing the 3 eggs with the sugar. Add the yogurt and fix. Add the oil and mix. Add the coconut powder and mix. Using a fine sieve, sift the flour and baking powder over the mixture and then mix together. Finally, add the vanilla and mix.

  • Step 3

    Pour in the prepared greased pan and bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes.The Basbousa is ready when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  • Step 4

    Let it cool for 10 minutes and then cut into square slices.

  • Step 5

    Drizzle homemade sugar syrup on top. You can drizzle as little or as much as you like.
