  • 4 cups cold water

  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon green chili, minced (sub with Serrano or Jalapeño)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger root, finely minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • pinch red chili powder, or cayenne pepper powder
  • 1 cup tomato puree, (⅔ of a 15.5 ounce can)
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 3/4 teaspoon mineral salt
