  • 1/8 teaspoon red chili powder , (substitute with cayenne pepper)
  • 1/8 teaspoon asafetida, (optional; see notes)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
  • 1 cup water

  • 1/2 teaspoon black mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon green chilis (substitute with jalapeños), slit lengthwise
