Recipe Card

ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup Za'atar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Method

  • Step 1

    Dissolve the yeast in the warm water and add the sugar. Mix and set aside. Mix the other ingredients together, then add the yeast mixture. Knead till a dough is formed. Note: you may need to add extra flour to make it smooth.

  • Step 2

    Mix za’atar with olive oil. Divide the dough into as many balls as you like (depending on the quantity you want). You can freeze the remaining dough to use at a later time or use it for a different recipe such as spinach pies.

  • Step 3

    Roll out the dough, top with the za’atar mixture, place on a baking sheet and repeat. Once all assembled, bake for 20 minutes at 350F. Voilà, breakfast (or snack) is served.
