ingredients
- 2 cups farina
- 1/2 cup ground almonds
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup ghee/butter
- 3 tablespoons baking powder
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup attar
- sprigs Garnish almond halves
- 1 tablespoon tahini sauce
Method
Step 1
Mix the farina, almond, and sugar in the ghee/butter and let it rest for one hour at room temperature. Later, add the buttermilk and baking powder and mix well using a whisk.
Step 2
Using a 9x13 baking dish, pour the tahini and spread all over the dish. The tahini prevents it from sticking to the dish and tastes good.
Step 3
Pour the mixture into the dish and bake for 20 minutes @ 375F. Take out from the oven and cut into 20 square pieces. Place an almond on the top in each square. Place back in the oven and bake for another 25 minutes or until golden brown on the edges. Turn the oven to broil and let it bake for 1-2 minutes until it turns brown at the top. Enjoy warm or cool with a cup of black tea or coffee!
