Rosemary And Sweet Fig Scones

Recipe: Fig & Rosemary Scones ~ Heat oven to 425. In a large bowl whisk together 2 c. flour, 1/3 c. sugar, 1 tbsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tbsp fresh chopped rosemary. Dice 1/2 cup dried figs and add to the flour mixture, tossing by hand to make sure the figs do not clump together. Add 1 1/4 c. heavy cream and mix with a fork just until the dough comes together. Gather dough in a ball and knead it a few times against the bowl until the bowl in fairly clean. Turn dough out onto a floured surface and pat into an 8 inch round. Cut 8 wedges, brush tops with cream, sprinkle with sugar, and garnish with rosemary sprigs. Place on baking sheet and bake for 15 min. Serve warm, YUM!!!
The deliciously warm scent of rosemary and sweet fig wafted through my house this morning as these scones baked to perfection. A little bit sweet, a little bit savory, and a whole lot of yummm!! -@bittiebites
