ingredients
- 6 tbsp butter
- 2 medium diced onion
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 28-ounce cans diced tomatoes
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tbsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tbsp pepper
- 1 tbsp celery salt
- 1 cup cream
- 2 tbsp honey
Method
Step 1
In a large pot, heat butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook slowly, occasionally stirring, until soft. Add flour and stir until mixture is slightly thickened and pale gold, about 3 minutes.
Step 2
Stir in the tomatoes, chicken broth, honey, salt, pepper, and celery salt. Raise heat until the liquid bubbles, then reduce to low. Simmer for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Blend and stir in cream. Serve hot!
