ingredients

  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 tablespoons Honey
  • 1/2 tablespoons Cinnamon
  • 3/4 cups Milk
  • 1/4 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 loaf Brioche Bread
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 stick Butter

Method

  • Step 1

Cut brioche loaf into 8, 1-inch slices.

  • Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, add eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract and honey. Mix with a whisk until smooth and the cinnamon is well combined.

  • Step 3

Transfer egg and milk mixture into a shallow dish or plate with raised edges.

  • Step 4

With a pan on medium-low heat, add enough butter to coat the bottom.

  • Step 5

Dip the brioche slice into the mixture, covering both sides. Transfer to the buttered, heated pan.

  • Step 6

Sprinkle a teaspoon of sugar onto the top, uncooked side of the bread. When the bottom of the first side is light brown, flip it over and fry until golden brown, about 3 minutes.

  • Step 7

Sprinkle a teaspoon of sugar (or enough to cover) onto the cooked side. Flip it over again. Fry until golden brown and the sugar has caramelized on both sides. Add more butter to the pan as needed.

  • Step 8

Repeat steps. Butter the pan between each new slice. Serve immediately and enjoy warm. Top with butter, syrup, fruit or whip cream.
