Caprese Biscuits

(4)
"{#ad} Today I am working with my friends @thefeedfeed to make Caprese stuffed biscuits using @immaculatebaking Organic Flaky Biscuits. You can find these biscuits along with other amazing products at @WholeFoods (find one near you HERE)! These stuffed biscuits are so cheesy and so good. I mean come on, is there anything better than a good cheese pull? The cheese gives the creaminess and the tomatoes bring the acidity to the biscuits. Then when you drizzle the butter on top and bake that creates this super crunchy outside layer of the biscuit. When you bite into the biscuit you get the crunch from the outside of the biscuit along with the flaky layers and then make it to the cheesy goodness and then you get hit with a perfect amount of garlic. The biscuits are really what makes these stuffed biscuits so flaky and so good! This recipe is a must-try! #feedfeed #immaculatebaking #wholefoods"

ingredients

  • 2 packages Immaculate Baking Organic Flaky Biscuits
  • 3 vine-ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more for sprinkling on top
  • 10 ounce block mozzarella cheese, cut into 16 cubes
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 bunch fresh basil, chopped

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 350ºF.

  • Step 2

Put sliced tomatoes on top of a paper towel and lightly sprinkle with kosher salt and set aside. This will help draw the moisture out of the tomatoes so the biscuits won’t be soggy. Allow the tomatoes to sit for at least 10 minutes, then pat dry with a paper towel.

  • Step 3

Take Immaculate Baking Organic Flaky Biscuit dough and one at a time, lightly pull the biscuit on each side to stretch. Add a cube of mozzarella to the center and fold over to seal closed. Continue with remaining biscuits and mozzarella. Arrange the biscuits in a 9x9” baking dish side by side. Drape tomatoes over each biscuit.

  • Step 4

To make the butter, combine garlic powder, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, and melted butter. Brush onto tomatoes. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Step 5

    Sprinkle with basil and enjoy!
