ingredients
- 1/2 cups sooji (semolina)
- 3 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
- 1 cup milk lukewarm
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- Garnish: Coarsely chopped nuts of your choice
Method
Step 1
Gather the ingredients. Heat up sauce pan over low heat and when it is hot, add the ghee. When the ghee melts, add the sooji and stir to mix well.
Step 2
Be sure to continuously stir the mixture. Roast sooji till you smell nutty flavor coming out of it.
Step 3
Once you notice light golden color it’s a time to add lukewarm milk. (You can also add water but milk will taste better)
Step 4
Turn up the heat to medium flame. Continue to stir the mixture. Once it starts to thicken up add sugar. At this time put the heat on low flame.
Step 5
Add cardamom powder. Cook until it is thick and begins to leave the sides of the pan. Garnish with nuts of your choice.
Step 6
Serve it hot/warm.
