We recommend adding 1/2 cup of fresh or canned pumpkin puree to the custard mix for extra pumpkin flavor!

1 loaf challah bread, sliced

6 large eggs

2 cups heavy cream

2 cups milk

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

pinch of salt

pinch of pumpkin pie spice

Arrange challah in ovenproof gratin dish. Whisk together eggs, heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, pinch salt and a big pinch of pumpkin spice mix.

Pour the cream mix over the challah bread and allow to soak overnight in the fridge. In the morning, place the dish into a larger baking dish add hot water until the water comes halfway up the sides of the dish.

Preheat the over to 350˚F. Sprinkle over some more pumpkin spice mixed with sugar and Bake for 35-40 minutes until the custard is set.
