ingredients
- 2 pork or turkey sausages
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 box Annie's Cheesy Pizza Rice
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1 cup shredded carrots
Method
Step 1
Sauté two pork or turkey sausages in a heavy stockpot until browned and crisp. Remove from pan and set aside.
Step 2
Add 2 TBSP butter and rice from package and toast for 2 minutes.
Step 3
Add 2.5 cups of water and seasoning packet and stir until dissolved.
Step 4
Bring to a boil, then turn down to a simmer. Set kitchen timer for 15 minutes.
Step 5
Add 1 cup raw shredded carrots.
Step 6
Slice sausage into half lengthwise, then cut into bite-size pieces.
Step 7
When timer beeps, add in sausage, stir to combine with rice.
Step 8
Combine with rice. Cook 1-3 more minutes until rice is tender, serve immediately.
