Method

  • Step 1

    Sauté two pork or turkey sausages in a heavy stockpot until browned and crisp. Remove from pan and set aside. 


  • Step 2

    Add 2 TBSP butter and rice from package and toast for 2 minutes. 


  • Step 3

    Add 2.5 cups of water and seasoning packet and stir until dissolved.


  • Step 4

    Bring to a boil, then turn down to a simmer. Set kitchen timer for 15 minutes.


  • Step 5

    Add 1 cup raw shredded carrots.

  • Step 6

    Slice sausage into half lengthwise, then cut into bite-size pieces. 


  • Step 7

    When timer beeps, add in sausage, stir to combine with rice.


  • Step 8

    Combine with rice.
 Cook 1-3 more minutes until rice is tender, serve immediately.
