ingredients

  • 1/4 cup virgin coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3 tablespoons crushed roasted nuts, toasted coconut, or other mix-ins (optional)

Method

  • Step 1

Sift the unsweetened cocoa powder into a medium-sized bowl. Add the honey and salt to the bowl and set aside.

  • Step 2

In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the virgin coconut oil. This can be done in short intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted.

  • Step 3

Pour the melted coconut oil into the cocoa mixture. Stir until the mixture is well combined and smooth. If desired, stir in any optional mix-ins such as crushed nuts or toasted coconut.

  • Step 4

Place a silicone chocolate mold on a tray for stability. Pour the chocolate mixture into the mold, spreading it evenly.

  • Step 5

Transfer the tray with the chocolate mold to the refrigerator. Let the chocolate set for at least 2 hours. For a firmer texture, refrigerate overnight. Once set, remove from the mold and enjoy your homemade chocolate!
