Our 5 Favorite Strawberry  Recipes!

Depending on where you live, strawberries come into season at different times. In my home state of Florida, strawberry harvest is typically between December and March, but in other states, like New York, you won’t see strawberries until May or June! Every March, Florida rolls out the red carpet for 11 days to put on the Strawberry Festival in Plant City.  The festival dates back to the 1940’s and they celebrate the harvest, community members, local farmers, musicians and artists. If you don’t go for the live music performances, you at least have to make an appearance to get a case of berries and get a strawberry shortcake. It’s tradition and calories don’t count at festivals!!

So, in honor of strawberry season hitting the northeast, and having missed the strawberry festival this year; I’ve curated a list of 5 strawberry recipes from our community members.

Strawberry-Sumac Scones
by @saratane

Sumac and strawberries may seem like a unique pairing but they compliment each other so well! Sumac, is a dried berry hailing from the Mediterranean and Middle East. It’s very tangy and bright which adds a little pizzazz to the sweet strawberries!
