Easy Soft Dinner Rolls in a Bread Machine

ingredients
- 2 teaspoons yeast
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup warm milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 5 cups unbleached flour
- 1 large egg, for brushing on top of the buns, optional
Method
Step 1
Add 2 teaspoons of yeast, 2 teaspoons of sugar, and 1/2 cup of warm water into a small bowl. Let it rise for 15 minutes.
Step 2
Add the remaining sugar and warm water to the bread machine bowl. Combine with the rest of the ingredients: 2 large eggs 1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter 1/4 cup of warm milk 1 teaspoon of salt The yeast mixture 5 cups of unbleached flour
Step 3
Turn on the DOUGH setting on your bread machine, and let it do the job. My bread machine takes 1 hour and 30 minutes. This can vary depending on your device.
Step 4
Spray a rectangular 18″ X 13″ baking sheet with cooking spray. (If your baking pan is not a nonstick type, you should put a sheet of parchment paper.)
Step 5
The dough will be easy to work with but use a little flour to help form the dough into 24 equal pieces and shape each into a ball. Lay them on a prepared baking dish.
Step 6
Cover with a kitchen towel, let the dough rise for 35 minutes.
Step 7
Preheat oven to 360F.
Step 8
For the nice golden brown color of the soft buns, make an egg wash by whisking 1 large egg and brushing on the tops of each dough ball.
Step 9
Place in the oven for 20 minutes.
