ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • salt, to taste
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 small head broccoli, cut into small florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated fine
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
  • sesame seeds, for serving

Method

  • Step 1

Heat a large skillet to medium-high heat with olive oil. Add your shrimp and season it with salt and pepper. Then, cook the shrimp until it’s golden, stirring 1-2 times, which should take about 5 minutes. When the shrimp is cooked through, remove them from the skillet.

  • Step 2

In the same skillet, add sesame oil, broccoli, and bell pepper. Cook the veggies on medium heat, stirring a few times, until they’re soft. This should take about 7 minutes.

  • Step 3

Add garlic and ginger to the skillet of vegetables and cook for about 1 more minute.

  • Step 4

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, cornstarch, lime juice, honey, a pinch of red pepper flakes, and chili garlic sauce. Add the sauce to the skillet and stir to coat the vegetables.

  • Step 5

Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook with the vegetables and sauce until everything is heated through.

  • Step 6

Serve your shrimp stir-fry with sesame seeds, over rice, mixed in with noodles, or on its own! Enjoy!
