ingredients

  • 2 pounds apricots, cut, pitted
  • 1 pound sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • jars with lids, washed in hot water

Method

  • Step 1

    Wash apricots, and cut them into pieces.

  • Step 2

    On medium heat, add 1 lb of sugar and 2 cups of water into a large pot.

  • Step 3

    Stir occasionally till the syrup becomes clear.

  • Step 4

    Add the syrup to the apricots in a large soup pot.

  • Step 5

    Put on medium heat and bring to a boil. Gently take any foam out. Turn the heat off and let the apricots cool down for about 10 hours or overnight.

  • Step 6

    Reheat the apricot jam again to boil. Into well-washed with hot water jars add the apricot jam.
